The Massachusetts Library Association is made up of librarians from all over the the state of Massachusetts. Some groups of MLA members are interested in a specific area of MLA or librarianship.
MLA currently offers three sections to which you can be a member for no additional cost.
You can select any of the sections through the left menu bar.
Youth Services Section
The object of this organization is to promote library service to youth; to promote the profession of youth librarianship; to further the awareness of youth within the profession as well as the community at large, and to aid in implementing MLA state standards for Massachusetts Library Services for Children and Young Adults.
Technical Services Section
The objectives of the Section are: to provide a forum for discussion and programming dealing with technical services and technology; to maintain and enhance career awareness; to facilitate the exchange of information on recent developments in technical services and technology; and to respond to the changes in accordance with the membership's wishes.
Paralibrarian Section
Through support and increased awareness of paralibrarians, the Section advocates for recognition and participation in the library community. The Section promotes and provides a forum for networking and career development opportunities.
